Meet Dre
I’ve been where you are.
I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease when I was 12 and ran myself into the ground in a fast-paced “work hard, play harder” lifestyle all through 20s. Then I hit my 30s and my body seemed to crumble overnight.
Suddenly, I was tired, sick and struggling. Unclear how to feel better, I spent thousands on every possible doctor and solution available to me. And it worked…kind of.
My body did get better. I felt more tethered, not quite as fatigued and generally “ okay. ” But I knew there had to be more. I kept thinking, “this can’t be the best I’ll ever feel.” The only problem was, I had no idea what to do next.
Overwhelmed by it all, I stopped my insane routine of 40+ daily supplements and super strict diet. In a way, I gave up. But something interesting happened: I felt better.
What I didn’t know then is that by letting go of the stress of healing, my body could actually start to heal more deeply. This propelled me to explore my internal state and start paying attention to the signals my body was telling me.
What I’ve learned is that healing isn’t only about the physical body. Taking the right supplements and eating the right foods can only get you so far. To truly heal, we need to take a good look at everything in our lives that’s creating dis-ease, a task that doctors and most practitioners simply don’t have the time or bandwidth to address.
Here’s what I will tell you: when I started tuning into the feelings and emotions behind my disease, everything shifted for me. Life felt more manageable, and dare I say it: this journey got a lot more fun.
